Fans saying they can't vote
If you are getting comments/complaints from visitors to your site that they can't vote for a fan poll there is a good reason why.
We attempt to only allow each visitor to vote for a fan poll only once. We do this by adding the IP address of the computer to our database and if we see that IP address again we show the results instead of letting them vote again.
However, some schools use a small pool of IP address for all computers on campus. This means that if your school may only have 20 or so IP address for everyone on campus and so only 20 people would be able to vote.
We have a way around this that will not check the IP but instead will use cookies to bock repeat votes. The bad side to this is that someone can vote a thousand plus times if they wish.
If you would like for us to change it so your system does not check for the IP then just submit a ticket and we will make the change for you. In your ticket just say - "Please remove IP check for Fan Polls on my site".
